Hyderabad, 7th March, 2025: Premier Energies is a 30-year-old company with headquarters and primary operations in Telangana. The company has an operational capacity of 2GW Solar Cell and 4.1 GW Solar Module manufacturing facility in Telangana and the company currently employs around 5000 people at its facilities in Telangana.

The company initially planned a 4GW Cell and Module facility in Telangana with investment of around Rs 3000 cr and employment potential of 5000 people. As the renewable energy market continues to grow the company saw a need for geographical diversification as well as backward integration into Ingot and Wafer, Solar Aluminum Frames Extrusion along with capacity expansions on the cell and module side. Due to evolving market needs the company has relocated some investments for strategic reasons and is planning further investments in TG, AP and MP. The company has received excellent support from Telangana Govt both in the past and present and GOI towards Make in India initiatives. The company was initially allocated 75 acres at Seetharampur IP and taking cognizance of additional investment plans of Premier, the TG government has signed a MOU for 125 acres of land which ascertains the commitment of Premier to TG and the excellent support of TG government.

The company had further announced expansion of 1 GW Solar Cell Line and 1 GW Solar Module line with an investment outlay of INR 800 crores in 2024 and was swiftly given support by the Telangana govt The plants are under advanced stage of construction and will be commissioned in Q1 FY 2025-2026 creating an additional employment of 1500 people in the state of Telangana. TGIIC was kind enough to lease a pre constructed facility in Maheshwaram IP to Premier Energies owing to fastrack nature of the project The plant was constructed in a record time of 9 months with support of the TG government.

The TG government has extended all support to bring up these facilities in the shortest period of time and Premier is evaluating further substantial investments in TG. Further the company has recently applied for additional 25 acres of land from the Govt of Telangana for its future expansion.

Due to proximity to port and geographic diversification the company has decided to relocate part of its expansion plans, that is the 4GW Cell line to Andhra Pradesh as raw materials required for these are imported and proximity to port is advantageous. Further the company has also been allocated 50 acres land near Bhopal by MPIDC Madhya Pradesh for future expansions and shall help cater to the markets in MP, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
